Manchester United announce £25 million signing of Patrick Dorgu on 7-year contract

Manchester United have finalized the signing of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in a deal worth up to £29 million.

On Sunday, United confirmed the signing of the 20-year-old on a contract that would last until 2030, with an option for an additional year. The wing-back has signed for £25 million ($31 million/€30 million) plus £4 million ($5 million/€4.8 million) in possible bonuses. The young Dane described this as a "special" experience for him, while making an open disclosure regarding head coach Ruben Amorim.

"I can't wait to work with Ruben Amorim; his vision for this team and the club's future is really exciting. There is a clear strategy for my growth, and I believe that Manchester United is the ideal venue for me to reach my full potential and realize my lofty goals."

United have been hunting for a wing-back for some time owing to Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw's injuries. This has been a difficult position, but the Red Devils will hope that Dorgu can fix it for Amorim's club.

Dorgu will be looking forward to his first appearance for United, as well as Sunday's Premier League home game against Crystal Palace.
