FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Trophy: Everything you need to know about its stunning design — and rich history

‎The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is set to be unlike any previous edition, with a new 32-team format, marking the tournament's second major overhaul in its 25-year history. Scheduled to take place in the United States from June 14, the competition will be held once every four years, aligning with the World Cup schedule. But beyond the expansion, one of the most striking changes will be the introduction of a brand-new trophy with significant design and symbolic value.

‎A Trophy That Represents the Future and Honors the Past
‎This year's trophy is more than just a symbol of sporting achievement; it's a representation of football's global reach and history. Crafted by Tiffany & Co., the trophy features a 24-carat gold-plated finish, with laser-engraved details that reflect the sport’s rich heritage. These engravings include a world map and the names of all 211 FIFA member associations, along with the six confederations.
‎An innovative feature of the trophy is its ability to transform from a flat shield into a spherical structure, with a golden key unlocking its moving parts. FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted the trophy's importance: “The new trophy is both prestigious and timeless, a symbol of the future and inspired by the past. The team that lifts it will hold the world of club football in their hands.”

‎Design Inspirations and Features
‎The design of the trophy draws inspiration from a variety of sources. Among the key influences are the Voyager Golden Records, the periodic table, and astronomical symbols, including those representing the positions of planets at the time of FIFA’s founding over 120 years ago. The central disc of the trophy features icons of football traditions, including images of stadiums, equipment, and a world map.

‎The trophy also showcases a unique engraving in 13 different languages and Braille, further symbolizing the inclusive spirit of football. It even has space to engrave the winning clubs’ emblems for the next 24 editions of the tournament, making it a timeless piece for future generations.
‎An inscription on the trophy reads: “To those who hold this trophy, history belongs to you! You are witness to a moment in time that represents the pinnacle of club football.”

‎Craftsmanship by Tiffany & Co.
‎FIFA partnered with Tiffany & Co., the renowned American luxury jeweler, to bring this vision to life. Tiffany’s legacy in creating iconic trophies for major sports events, such as the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the NFL and the FedExCup in golf, ensured that the FIFA Club World Cup trophy would embody the highest standards of craftsmanship.
‎Tiffany & Co. CEO Anthony Ledru emphasized the significance of the collaboration: “With a legacy dating back 160 years, Tiffany & Co. has crafted some of the most iconic championship trophies in history. The FIFA Club World Cup trophy is the next chapter in our long history of creating the world’s most revered symbols of athletic achievement.”

‎How Much is the Trophy Worth?
‎While the prize pool for the 2025 tournament has increased to $1 billion (approximately £777 million), the exact cost of the trophy's creation by Tiffany & Co. remains undisclosed. What is clear is that the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Trophy will be a masterpiece of design, to be unveiled on July 13, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The winning team will receive a replica of the trophy, complete with engravings commemorating their victory.
‎In the years to come, this trophy will undoubtedly become an enduring symbol of football greatness, passed down through generations, preserving the legacy of the 2025 edition for decades to come.
